Antigua is known as the land of 365 beaches—a beach for every day of the year
Places of interest in Antigua include Shirley Heights, Nelson's Dockyard, Dow's Hill Interpretation Centre, Fig Tree Drive, Harmony Hill, Devil's Bridge, Betty's Hope and the St John's Anglican cathedral
Antigua is also known for its 150 cane-processing windmills, each the focal point of a sizable plantation. Today, almost 100 of these stone towers remain, and they now serve as houses, bars, and restaurants
English Harbour—including Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights, and more—is Antigua's historic district. Developed as a base for the British Navy, the harbour was known as the “gateway to the Caribbean”
The local cuisine is made up of fresh seafood, including fish, lobster, crab, and conch. Other local dishes include land turtle, goat, and pepperpot (spicy stew made with hot peppers, okra, pumpkin and beef/pork).
Local drinks to enjoy include Rum Punch and Dark & Stormy's, made using Antigua's English Harbour Rum
